I had to take my Shelby for some warranty issues. It seems my stripes were pitting and starting to show discoloration. Part of the process involved replacing my riveted hood scoop.
The problem now is the replacement scoop does not line up with the existing holes in the hood and seems to be lower quality material. As a result my service advisor wants to reinstall the old scoop.
Keep in mind the rivets have been drilled out of the scoop already. Lets see what I get back. Sometimes dealing with a dealer can leave a pain in your gut... 
Wish me luck. I will post pics of what I get back from the dealer.

Well the dealer installed the OEM scoop. It was crap. It no longer sits flush with the hood and the rivets look like a 3rd grader did it. So I did not pick up the car. I told the dealer to remove the crappy scoop and install the replacement that Shelby sent them.
The dealer is trying to avoid installing the new scoop because they would have to drill 23 holes around the scoop perfectly the first time or eat the cost of another scoop. I agree that they should just have a real body shop do it.

well if they screw that one up think they ought to replace the hood also or you might sound like a flute going down the road.

Just over 3 weeks at the dealer. I sure missed my baby. She came back with perfect stripes and a brand new scoop. PERFECTLY done. Before the stripes were also kinked where the scoop met the stripe. Not any more!!!
These are some phone pics before it got dark. Treating my baby to a full detail tomorrow.
